Karl V. Fink

Karl Fink earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Michigan. From 1967 to 1972, he was a trial attorney with the Washtenaw County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. During his last two years in the Prosecutor's Office, Mr. Fink supervised other trial attorneys and was in charge of the Appeals Division. In 1973, he joined Pear Sperling.

Mr. Fink ran and won election as a Michigan state trial court judge in 1978, serving first as a District Court judge and then as a Circuit Court judge from 1994 until 1997. While on the bench, Judge Fink handled a wide variety of cases, including breach of contract, negligence, wrongful discharge, discrimination, employment cases, malpractice, and commercial transactions. Mr. Fink was elected four times by Washtenaw County voters, always with broad non-partisan support and he always received high ratings from Washtenaw County attorneys for his legal and judicial ability. Mr. Fink however, could not stay away from the challenges and rewards of private practice (or Pear Sperling) and rejoined the firm in 1997 as principal.
