Thomas E. Daniels is a principal/owner of Pear Sperling Eggan & Daniels, P.C. where he has been engaged in a general civil litigation practice since 1984. Mr. Daniels began his legal career as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Presque Isle County, followed by three years as Director and Chief Trial Attorney of the 26th Judicial Circuit Office of Public Advocacy. He is a 1977 honors graduate of Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Mr. Daniels is one of the chief litigators in the firm and has a broad civil trial practice handling commercial, personal injury, employment, personal injury, premises liability, construction, civil rights, insurance coverage matters, domestic relations, real estate and municipal law. Mr. Daniels also handles professional licensure and other matters before administrative bodies. Mr. Daniels is also active in the local legal community having held a number of positions with the Washtenaw County Bar Association, including President. Mr. Daniels is a member of the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association, the Washtenaw County Trial Lawyers Association, the Criminal Defense Attorneys Association of Michigan and the Criminal Defense Lawyers Association of Washtenaw County. He is a long time member of the Pro Bono Panel of Legal Services of South Central Michigan and devotes considerable volunteer time to area non-profit agencies, such as serving on the Board of Directors of the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Washtenaw County, the Ypsilanti Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Steering Committee of the Friends of Legal Aid.
